Hopefully I can finish Switched by the end of the day which I’m really enjoying even if Wendy is a little slow with catching onto things and such. Edit: I totally finished Switched cause I am amazing and all ;) and with it being the last day I’m going to include al my progress and goal information!

Enthralled: Paranormal DiversionsPaper TownsTroll Or DerbySwitched
When I first signed up to the read-a-thon I decided that I wanted to out do my own achievements from last time but unfortunately I wasn’t 100% up to it this week, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t achieve what I set out to do but I’m happy with my outcomes due to the fact after having a month of not reading this is a vast improvement! I hope you all have had a lovely week, and I’ll be stopping by every wrap up post over the next week or two depending on how many there are ;) Below I’m going to include synopsis’ of the books I’ve read – I hope you see something you like.
Enthralled: Paranormal Diversion by Melissa Marr: A journey may take hundreds of miles, or it may cover the distance between duty and desire. Sixteen of today’s hottest writers of paranormal tales weave stories on a common theme of journeying. Authors such as Kelley Armstrong, Rachel Caine, and Melissa Marr return to the beloved worlds of their bestselling series, while others, like Claudia Gray, Kami Garcia, and Margaret Stohl, create new land-scapes and characters. But whether they’re writing about vampires, faeries, angels, or other magical beings, each author explores the strength and resilience of the human heart. Suspenseful, funny, or romantic, the stories in Enthralled will leave you moved.
Paper Towns by John Green: When Margo Roth Spiegelman beckons Quentin Jacobsen in the middle of the night—dressed like a ninja and plotting an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows her. Margo’s always planned extravagantly, and, until now, she’s always planned solo. After a lifetime of loving Margo from afar, things are finally looking up for Q . . . until day breaks and she has vanished. Always an enigma, Margo has now become a mystery. But there are clues. And they’re for Q. Printz Medalist John Green returns with the trademark brilliant wit and heart-stopping emotional honesty that have inspired a new generation of readers.
Troll or Derby by Red Tash: In Troll Or Derby, fifteen-year-old Roller Deb is singled out by town bullies for both her skates, and for being different. When her popular homecoming queen of a sister is kidnapped by a scuzzy drug dealer, Deb must flee the trailer park in which she’s grown up, and rescue her. Along the way, Deb becomes enmeshed in the magical realm of trolls and fairies, and the blood-thirsty version of roller derby at which these beings excel. But spending too much time among the fairies comes with a price. Will Deb choose to save her sister, with the aid of a mysterious troll? Or will she be lost to the lures of roller derby, and the blonde temptress April, forever?
Switched by Amanda Hocking: What if your entire world was built on a lie? Wendy Everly knew she was different the day her mother tried to kill her and accused her of having been switched at birth. Although certain she’s not the monster her mother claims she is – she does feel that she doesn’t quite fit in… She’s bored and frustrated by her small town life – and then there’s the secret that she can’t tell anyone. Her mysterious ability – she can influence people’s decisions, without knowing how, or why… When the intense and darkly handsome newcomer Finn suddenly turns up at her bedroom window one night – her world is turned upside down. He holds the key to her past, the answers to her strange powers and is the doorway to a place she never imagined could exist. Förening, the home of the Trylle. Finally everything makes sense. Among the Trylle, Wendy is not just different, but special. But what marks her out as chosen for greatness in this world also places her in grave danger. With everything around her changing, Finn is the only person she can trust. But dark forces are conspiring – not only to separate them, but to see the downfall everything that Wendy cares about. The fate of Förening rests in Wendy’s hands, and the decisions she and Finn make could change all their lives forever…

Bout of Books: Day 4

Challenges:
Reading In Winter has lovely challenge up called “A Book For Every Season” where we have to select a book for each season whether it be because it was set during the season or because the season is in the name of the book title.
As I have a really hard time remembering when/where a lot of the books I’ve read where set or they’ve not played much attention to the season I’ve done with picking titles instead, for Summer I’ve chose Summer and Bird by Katherine Catmull which I haven’t read but has been on my wishlist for a month, the cover for Autumn by David Moody caught my eye and it sounds fabulous so I’ve added it to my wishlist now, on my to be read pile from NetGalley I have Blades of Winter by G.T. Almasi which I may actually start during boutofbooks cause I honestly forgot about it, and last but not least for Spring we have Spring-Heeled Jack by Philip Pullman cause I’m about 80% sure I read this during school!

Book Smartie would like to know what our favourite snack whilst reading is, do we even snack at all or do you try and eat or drink exactly what the characters in the story are having?
It’s funny she asks this because whilst I was reading Dark Kiss by Michelle Rowan I wanted nothing more to eat plate after plate of small fancy chicken wings, maybe in a BBQ sauce? but alas there were none in the house and my kindle would’ve been very messy. I also have a glass of water or mug of tea handy when reading and food wise I try to avoid things that make your hands messy to avoid ruining the books so when I do have a packet of crisps I use one hand only and refuse to touch the book with that hand again haha! I drink more than I eat when reading :)
Last but not least Books With Cass has a few question on contemporary novels which I’ve decided not to participate in right now – I might do later – but I really want to go and read some more, make sure you check it out though.

Bout of Books: Day 3

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon
Wow Day 3 already, I really need to get a move on ;) I had to take a large chunk out of reading today for YouTube stuffs, I uploaded a short update on FAFiction (which I’ll add to the bottom of this post) and then spent about 5 hours recording for my gaming YouTube channel. I guess today wasn’t ever going to turn out well. Tomorrow I don’t have anything planned but researching Dadaism and getting my A level results – wish me luck!

Bout of Books: Day 2

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon
I haven’t actually started reading yet and its 2pm, I know terrible but I have only been awake for two hours, I don’t know how I sleep so much. On the plus side I’ve stopped by at least 30 blogs wishing you all luck and congratulating you on your progress. I’m going to go and finish reading Paper Towns once I’ve done the challenges for today, hope you have a good day! Okay finished Paper Towns and picked up Troll or Derby which I highly recommend :)

Curiosity Killed The Bookworm would like us to write her a book or blog related limerick:
Heh, which I’m not actually going to do but I hope you all go and take part ;) I’m terrible at limericks and don’t even understand how they work! Good luck to all who try.
The Grammarian’s Reviews (wow has a lovely layout) wants to know what book we are currently reading and where is it going to relocate?
Well I’m reading Paper Towns which is located in Orlando, Florida and I have almost finished it, at the moment they’re taking the road trip to hopefully find Margo but I’m not as optimistic as Q. I guess if I’d relocate it I’d simply shove them all into the prison that Rick and his fellow The Walking Dead cast have just stumbled across at the end of Season 2 or have left behind long ago if you’re up to date with the books, the reason I’m relocating the characters there is because its a large area that Margo can get lost in and explore with her black note book whilst the others can play hide and seek with her without having trek across the country to find out whether she’s alive or not, oh and I’ll keep the Walkers there too so there is some added drama and possibility she could be dead which is how I’m feeling about the book right now.
Last but not least Once Upon A Time would like us to write a piece of fiction about two characters from different worlds interacting;
Again, I’m not technically taking part in this one as I’m not a writer but if I was I’d write a piece about Elena Gilbert and Bella Swan meeting up over coffee to whine and ponder on how-oh-so-tough it is to choose who you love and the stress of having a boyfriend who is vampire. *rolls eyes*
Check back later for my progress & leave links to yours so I can stop by!

Bout of Books: Day 1

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

Oh hello my lovelies. Bout of Books has already turned out to be a life saviour in the reading department for myself and we’re not even through the first day yet. I stayed up last night to watch the Olympics closing ceremony which was the first part of the Olympics I even watched, it was pretty good I guess even though I didn’t know half of the people performing. Any how I’ll be back later to update my total progress but for now I’ve finished reading Enthralled so I can return it to the library and I’ve written the review for the last half too, which will be up some time next week and I’ve made my way through some of Paper Towns which I hope to finish tomorrow.

Challenges:
Auggie Talk wants to know who our literary best friends are and why, what do we do together and talk about?
Wow, I actually found this question difficult and I’ve had to really delve into past books to re-find my literary best friend, the reason being that lately I haven’t been reading all too much and the last few books I’ve read though I may have enjoyed the characters, I haven’t connected with them on such a high level. I finally decided to pick Lola Rose from the same titled book by Jacqueline Wilson, even though the story isn’t very fresh in my mind I remember the basics of what it was about – the family wins the lottery and move to London to start over, names and all. Jayni recreates herself as the exotic Lola Rose and I remember at the time I was reading it the idea of escaping and starting fresh seemed like the greatest thing in the world!
Reading in Texas and The Space Between ask “What happens to your books after you’ve finished reading them?”
I wish I could say something lovely about how I donate them to charity or pass them on to other book lovers but the reality is far more shelfish – yes, they’re displayed on shelves in my wardrobe (stops sun damage) in alphabetical order. The few I get from the library are obviously returned and then the books that have made a huge impression on me I lend to my Dad to get his verdict on – and I mean any book that has made an impression, like say when Twilight first came out, I was hooked and passed it on to him and even though he said it was too much of a romance for him he still read the whole series. That’s dedication. In short – they’re kept and arranged neatly and read again if needed a few years later.

Oh and if you leave links to your Bout of Books updates I’ll stop by :)
