#SpooksandTea: Grimoire Notes

Picture1Spooks and Tea: Grimoire Notes
For anyone who isn’t aware I run a book club and for October we’re doing a horror genre read-a-thon and as this is not only my final day hosting Blogoween but also my final day blogging before my vacation I figured now was a perfect time for myself and others to share what they’ve read so far this month in hopes of being able to recommend some good reads to others.

Grimoire Notes:
Watersnakes | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this and have alreayd graced you with a review.
Slothilda | ⭐⭐⭐
I picked this up due to my fear of sloths. I guess its a humourus read but mostly I just wanted it to be over and done with haha.
Empire of Storms | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I did it, I’m finally getting close to being up to date with Throne of Glass. Not a horror at all here but maybe it is that y’all had that ending to deal with for so long.
Grandpa Christmas | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ooops, I skipped ahead a few months but honestly if you have a small child please buy them this book. Its a great one that talks about the importance of loving our planet and it does so in a way that is approachable for children.
Alt-Life | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another graphic novel, not really a straight up horror but it explores alternate reality similar to that of The Matrix but human designed and welcomed. Leaves you questioning a lot of things.
The Graveyard Book | ⭐⭐⭐
I tried so hard to get into this book but I didn’t really connect to any of the characters. I read 150 pages and then skimmed the rest. Its a fine read but I guess just not for me.

I’m still currently reading a bunch of horror-esque or Halloween related books though. My nose is stuck in Blood Crescent, New Fears II, Wicca: A modern guide to witchcraft and magick, and Forsaken Genesis.

I would also love to find time for The Plotters by Un-su Kim, The Furies by Katie Lowe, Strange Ink by Gary Kemble, and The Boneless Mercies by Genevieve Tucholke!

Have you read any of these? Which of my horror books should I focus on for the rest of the month?

I’m so bad at keeping to my TBR piles I’m not sure why I ever pick them out haha. I hope your reading is

Are you reading any horror books this month? Is there any I should check out?
