Meet the Members

I run an online book club called Books and Tea and I love it dearly. I mean obviously I do or I wouldn’t still be running it.

I also wouldn’t be able to run it without the members as their activity within the club and their love for it too keeps it active and running smoothly.

I’m big on supporting the members and showing my appreciation for them and what better way to do so than to have guest posts from them – and thats what this feature will be.

For now I’m posting one every two weeks and I’ve provided the members with 4 open questions to answer and then a space to talk about anything they’d like – something they’re a fan of, something they do outside of the book club, or something they’re passionate about.

Introducing Lauren
Hello! My name is Lauren and I blog over at The Bookish Fairy Blog where I blog mostly about books, but I slip some lifestyle and education blog posts in there occasionally. I also have a Twitter account which I am very active on, and a bookstagram which I am trying to be more active on!

How did you get into blogging and the online bookish world?
I can’t remember how I discovered Booktube, but it was when I was a teenager. I quickly fell in love and dreamed of creating my own booktube account. I tried it, and hated it. I therefore thought that perhaps blogging may be a better alternative to plastering my face on the internet in awkward videos. I created 2 blogs prior to my current one that I just didn’t invest anytime in. I have taken some hiatuses since, but my passion has recently been reignited and I am now much more active on Twitter and my blog.

Tell us about your time on Books and Tea
I honestly can’t remember when I joined Books and Tea, but I’m pretty sure it was near the start of the group. Nothing was more exciting than meeting our lovely creator Lauren at YALC 2017 and I used to be a really active member of the group and took part in a couple of travelling book projects which were fun. It has become so big that I find it hard to keep a track of what is happening but I occasionally pop in to say hi.

Have you found and enjoyed any books thanks to Books and Tea?
Laini Taylor books, everyone kept banging on about them and I just knew I had to read them. Now she is an auto – buy author, I love her work. All of them!

Tell us something fun!
I was really struggling to know what to write in my free area, but I thought that I could share one of my other passions with you- knitting! I love knitting and there is something so satisfying about holding something you have made by hand and nothing beats seeing someone get excited when you give them a handmade item. I’m hoping to turn my knitting into a buisiness, so keep your eyes peeled!.
