Books and Tea | Meet the Members
I run an online book club called Books and Tea and I love it dearly. I mean obviously I do or I wouldn’t still be running it.
I also wouldn’t be able to run it without the members as their activity within the club and their love for it too keeps it active and running smoothly.
I’m big on supporting the members and showing my appreciation for them and what better way to do so than to have guest posts from them – and thats what this feature will be.
For now I’m posting one every two weeks and I’ve provided the members with 4 open questions to answer and then a space to talk about anything they’d like – something they’re a fan of, something they do outside of the book club, or something they’re passionate about.
Introducing Sheron
Hey, I’m Sheron Parris, otherwise known as S.C. Parris. I’m the author of five–soon-to-be-six–books in an epic dark fantasy series called The Dark World. Besides that I’m terrible with keeping up with my blog, but I go to school, and work where applicable.
How did you get into writing?
I got into writing by, of course, reading, and decided to just write my own book one day after finishing a very popular series when I was sixteen. One thing led to another and I taught myself how to write a book. My mother suggested I send it out to publishers, did so, after like two years it got picked up and is now available in bookstores across the world which is pretty cool.
Tell us about your time on Books and Tea
I feel like I’ve been here for years but it’s probably been like two? I don’t really remember anymore. It has been fun on Books and Tea. Being apart of the traveling book group, that was something I’ve never done before and I got to read a bunch of books I would have never personally picked up. Everyone in the group is so nice and welcoming, and I can always pop in and say ‘hi’ and get inundated with love and support, so that’s amazing.
Have you found and enjoyed any books thanks to Books and Tea?
One book I seriously enjoyed from the group is Danielle Vega’s Merciless, as it was a completely crazy story, and something I would have never read if not for the traveling book group.
Tell us something fun!
Aside from writing and reading books sometimes I’m also a professional wrestling manager for my fiance who wrestles on the independent circuit. It’s another way to tell a story and I get to wear skin-tight leather outfits so yay.
Oooh I’m going to look up those books!
