Books and Tea Book Club, Monthly Updates

Books and Tea Book Club | August Events

Books and Tea Book Club | August Events
Hi guys, I’m checking in again to let y’all know the variety of things we have happening throughout July. If you want a full run down on what my Book Club has to offer please visit this post.

Want to know whats happening within the Book Club in August? Keep reading for an update.

Our main event from July was a read-a-thon! This time we’re having a Graphic Novel themed one.

I had a lot of fun tackling all my graphic novels on my TBR, I didn’t finish them all but I did make decent progress. It was super encouraging seeing others do that same.

Mostly people took part in The Spinning Silver and This Savage Song read-along. Turns out 3 read-alongs and a read-a-thon was just too much for us so I’ll definitely keep this in mind next time I go over board.

Now back to August!

Keeping things simple this month with only one event – one read-a-long!

The theme we picked for August was “Translated”. This meant any book on the poll had to originally be written in a language that wasn’t English. We had so many good nominations.

Originally I thought that Battle Royale was going to win because it was in the lead for most of the polls time. But the last few days another over took it which I’m actually pretty happy about as its much different from our usual choices.

So Tada! For August we are reading Norwegian Wood!

So if any of these books spark your interest and you want to discuss them with others who are reading, please feel free to join.
Have you read any of it, if so what did you think?

  1. Haruki Murakami has a lot of interesting stories from what I’ve seen. I think I read one, about a strange library, but I might be confusing that with another writer. I’m not sure. ^^; Inkheart would’ve been my choice, but oh well. If you get a chance, I’d recommend it. It was beautiful!

  2. I’ve seen this one A LOT in our local bookstore, although I know nothing about it. xD Among the nominations, though, I really want to read Battle Royale. I watched an anime with a similar plot and loved it.
