Since Steam summer sales are arriving soon, Tecsie decided to clean up their Steam wishlist a little bit by writing a Steam Wishlist Clean Up post which was inspired by Lia’s Down the TBR Hole book blogger meme.
I really liked this idea and asked Tecsie if I could take part too so here I am. Though with a slight difference, Tecsie managed to go through a lot more of her wishlist in one go. I already know that will not be the case for me. So you’ll likely see a few of these.
Sit back, enjoy, and browse some video games with me.
Originally I was planning on making this a fortnightly post however if any of you don’t know E3 happened this week. I lost a lot of sleep and watched all of the conferences!
E3 is a yearly gaming expo where companies get to talk abou their upcoming releases to generate hype and excitement (or y’know put us to sleep because they talk about that 1 game for 30 minutes and you checked out 5 minutes into it).
Theres obviously problems with E3 because a lot of the time they’re selling you the idea of the game and then on release people can be disappointed with it but I still like to tune in to see what will supposed to be coming out in the following year or two.
(Please note I plan to do another post talking about other games that caught my attention during E3 but that I didn’t add to my Steam Wishlist)
However, because of this I’ve also added some new games to my Steam Wishlist.
First up is Ooblets which I’ve been excited about for a while as my friend shared some information on it earlier this year. Oooblets is a farming, town life, and creature collection game. I love the art style and the type of game is something I can easily get behind as its one I can dip in and out of with ease and not forget what I’m doing. Release date: 2018
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit I’ve added to my wishlist so I don’t forget about it. Which I doubt I would but Just In Case. It’s out on the 26th June and it’s 100% free! Captain Spirit takes place in the world of Life is Strange and as I’ve already completed the first game and mostly done with Before the Storm I’m very excited for this. Bonus points for being a freebie. The creators said the game will have hints about the first game and their upcoming sequel Life is Strange 2.
Shape of the World is alreayd out and I feel like this wasn’t actually at E3 but instead just showed up on my recommends thanks to what I have added due to E3. Its a first person exploration game in a surreal, organic world that reacts to your presence. How cool does that sound?
Morning Star is another faming game but its set in a post-cyberpunk world where computers are the soil and software is the seeds. Its not released till 2019 so whilst I’m interested in the art and concept I will revisit it when theres more information.
Outer Wilds is an open world wher a solar system is trapped in an endless time loop. The preview they showed during E3 caught my attention so I’ll be keeping my eye on this for sure. Release date: 2018.
Two Point Hospital allows you to design hospitals and cure peculiar illnesses – in the video they showed someone’s monobrow grew so much it became alive and created an infestation in the hospital. I’m not usually into management games so I’ll keep my eye out for this in a sale. Release date: 2018.
In Maneater you play as a shark. You eat people to survive. You evolve as you feed. I wasn’t interested at first but as they explained what the game was acutally about I was like Oh! This sounds ridiculous. It reminded me of Goat Sim. It looks stupid so I’m in. Release date: “coming soon”.
Lastly I added Knights and Bikes which is super cute! The art is hand-painted which I love. Its an action adventure game about two girls seeking treausre and ancient mysteries to solve. Release date: “TBA”.
Steam Wishlist total: 175
So no clean up here, just a bunch of additions. Have you heard about any of these games, if so what did you think of them? Do any of these games sound like something you’d play?
