The team behind the critically-acclaimed revamp of Batgirl returns with an exciting sci-fi action-adventure series!
By day, Domino Swift competes for fame & fortune in a worldwide motorcycle racing league. By night, she cracks heads of rival gangs in brutal bike wars to gain possession of a rare, valuable contraband: an engine-boosting “machine narcotic” known as Crush.
Collecting: Motor Crush 1-5

I picked this up before a doctors appointment because I recognised the art and graphic novel from following Babs on twitter.

I had no idea what it was about but as always I picked it up anyway.

After reading the first few pages I will admit I was a little hesitant due to having no interest in sports or racing, however the characters were enough to keep me reading.

I loved Domino and her backstory of competing in the races to win drugs that keep her alive. But are killing others.

And the character design for her ex girlfriend Lola killed me. She’s lovely and so smart.

I am living just to see more interactions between these two.

I also got super surprised because once the drug element is introduced it becomes clear this isn’t any ordinary story and very quickly launches into some of that nice science fiction I love so much (but never seem to read enough of).

Theres a mystery introduced and an amazing cliff-hanger that has left me pining for more. So much so when in America I bought the B&N exclusive cover too.

Definitely pick it up becuase it will surprise you. Look I even sold it to my gf.

5 stars / 5 stars

  1. I’ve been looking for some graphic novels to get into because I’ve never really read them. This one seems great! What are some of your favorites that you recommend to start out with?

    1. i really liked Saga and Paper Girls by Brain K Vaughan. Both scifi tho the first more mature and has themes of war. The second is time travely~

Snotgirl is great it reminds me of Perfect Blue/Black Swan.
