Meet the Members

I run an online book club called Books and Tea and I love it dearly. I mean obviously I do or I wouldn’t still be running it.

I also wouldn’t be able to run it without the members as their activity within the club and their love for it too keeps it active and running smoothly.

I’m big on supporting the members and showing my appreciation for them and what better way to do so than to have guest posts from them – and thats what this feature will be.

For now I’m posting one every two weeks and I’ve provided the members with 4 open questions to answer and then a space to talk about anything they’d like – something they’re a fan of, something they do outside of the book club, or something they’re passionate about.

Introducing Tecsie
Hi! I’m Jenny, or Tecsie as most people on the internet probably know me. You can find me as Tecsiederp on way too many places (like Twitter) or in some cases as Tecsielity (for example my art Instagram) because I’m super creative my blog is also called Tecsielity!

How did you get into blogging and the online bookish world?
I was really bored one day and browsing public Discord server lists and ended up on Books and Tea and there learned that book blogging is a thing. I like talking about all the stuff I enjoy, so I ended up following people’s example and starting a blog as well and by some miracle I didn’t quit after two months! I’ve since joined a couple of blogger Discords too and it’s all fun even though I’m not 100% a book blogger or anything because video games are also my love.

Tell us about your time on Books and Tea
I’ve been on Books and Tea almost from the beginning, I’m pretty sure the server wasn’t more than 2-3 months old when I joined and it’s over two years old now! I’ve made some good friends on there and it has really helped me get back into reading too. Lauren has single-handedly helped grow my book collection quite a bit, haha.

Have you found and enjoyed any books thanks to Books and Tea?
I think I’ve found quite a few of my favorite books through read-alongs and other things! I got Uprooted from the first Secret Santa event we did and I loved it so much and The Bone Witch was also really good and being hype with everyone about the sequel in March was really fun! Bubblegum was also a fun book I found because Lauren mentioned it in chat and encouraged me to request an ARC of it (my first ARC ever!) last summer too.

Tell us something fun!
There’s this one book series that everyone on BaT has probably heard me mention once or twice or a hundred times because I’ve been working on reading the series pretty much the whole time I’ve been on there.

Can anyone guess what it is? Yep, it’s Outlander!

I have currently only 500 pages left of book 8 so I’m very close to being caught up with the big main series and I’ve also seen all 3 seasons of the show and we had a fandom chat for it on Books and Tea for a little while that I pretty much kept alive on my own so basically if you need someone to talk Outlander with, I’m your gal.

Just wanted to put that out there since Lauren said we could talk about anything at the end of this thing.
