Spooks and Tea: Wrap Up
For anyone who isn’t aware I run a book club and for October we’ did a horror genre read-a-thon!
In my original Cover Goals post I spoke about some of the things I wanted to achieve.

I selected 5 books for my TBR last month and wow I actually read 3 of them and I’m almost done with Tome too;

I loved this. Its so vulgar and fun. Each of the main characters ran away with my heart tbh.
Lighter Than My Shadow | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I spoke about this in the video but this is really interesting on the journey of mental health, abuse, and eating disorders
Paper Girls, Vol 3 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yes I love these girls and their adventure is getting wilder. Also potential for queer characters?!
Carnivore | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is so violent and gruesome. But also poetic. I really enjoyed it but it is definitely not for everyone. It would really benefit from a trigger warning list at the start.As you can see I didn’t do great for the first week on reading horror themed books even though on the 5th I said I would do better.
Saga, Vol 4 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoy this series so much. I’m sad they weren’t together as much this volume and hope they’re reunited fairly quickly as I love their dynamic.I will be posting reviews on all of these books throughout the coming month so check back for those.This is why I rarely ever make month TBR because I just simply do not stick to them.At least I can start Horror books now I’ve read everything else that I wanted to read.
Bedlam, Vol 1 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had no idea what this graphic novel was about, it just came to me highly recommended from my friend Mike. This was one messed up, bloody, and interesting read. I really enjoyed this and was surprised because the art wasn’t a style I would usually pay a lot of attention too but it worked so well. I’m hooked.
There’s Someone Inside Your House | ⭐⭐⭐
I uh. I’m not a fan. I didn’t hate it. I didn’t love it. It was just …okay? SPerkins can build up the tension well and if this had been a horror story only I’d have loved it.
Blackbird | ⭐
I only read 10% and after being a bit disappointed with my previous read I decided I couldn’t push myself to attempt this further. Who has time for mediocre books?
Uzumaki | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was my third time re-reading Uzumaki. I still love this messed up book. Definitely not for everyone though – especially if you’re squeamish. Now excuse me, I think I just saw a spiral in my tea.
